Our Mission

  • Protect, preserve, enhance

    Protect, preserve and enhance the lands of Puvunga to its natural, historical state and open-space and provide the necessary means to protect and preserve the cultural resources on the land.

  • Funding

    Access available funding for the protection and preservation of the land and cultural resources on Puvungna.

  • Educate

    Promote public education and interest in cultural resource preservation and American Indian traditional, religious, and spiritual knowledge.

  • Provide input

    Provide cultural resource preservation input to appropriates local, state, and federal agencies.

  • Network

    Establish and promote communication networks for cultural resource preservation.

  • Stewardship programs

    Promote stewardship programs for cultural resources on Puvungna. Indigenous-led conservation is the most effective and equitable way to safeguard sacred lands, reverse wildlife loss, and reduce climate change through a stewardship program. We will create programs to protect the land, wildlife, cultural resources and vegetation. Studies show that Indigenous-managed lands boast higher levels of biodiversity, given millennia of stewardship experience.

  • Forums for discussion

    Establish and promote forums for discussion of cultural resource preservation.

  • Defend

    Consider appropriate actions to defend and protect significant cultural resources on Puvungna.
